Hi, CAL Families!

We are selling Valentine's Day Grams!

Please support our school by allowing your student to purchase Valentine Grams for a classmate, school friend, or a teacher!

For only $2, send a special message of appreciation or friendship. Each gram will include a message from the student and a candy treat or toy!

Stop by the Main Office before or after school to get your Valentine's Grams! Buy as many as you wish!

The last day to buy Valentine Grams is February 8, 2024!

Dear Cal Parents,

On December 15th, you should have received a letter from South Coast Air Quality Management District notifying you about a permit for a Gasoline Station, E85 Storage and Dispensing equipment. If you are in disagreement with the development please read the letter and call George IIles directly at (909) 396-3321.

Greetings CAL Families! For our Annual Thanksgiving Fund Drive, we're asking the CAL community to help us donate to those in need. CAL would like to provide a Grocery Store gift card to some of our families. Please consider making a small cash donation to help another family enjoy a Happy, Healthy Holiday Season!

Please support our school's fundraiser. Students may win prizes, based on how much they sell! The fundraiser dates are: 9/26/23 through 10/24/23. Be sure to check your child's backpack for our Fundraiser brochure and order form. All orders will be delivered to the school on November 2nd. Thank you for your support!

Get Ready for another Parent Information Workshop! Next Thursday, October 12, from 5:00PM - 6:30PM, we'll meet in person, to discuss how parent involvement is critical to student success.

CAL has collaborated with PEBSAF, a nonprofit organization, to present a Parent Workshop to discuss strategies for encouraging student achievement.

Bonus: Your student will receive a "FREE DRESS" pass, if you attend. Also, there will be a drawing for prizes!

CAL is excited to celebrate Latin X/Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th through October 15th! We honor LatinX/Hispanic culture and the many contributions made throughout history, and up to the present day! This year, we will host exciting activities, Dress-Up Days, Weekly Highlight of Historical Figures, Door Decorating Contest, and other events throughout the month!

Please join us for Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. We’ll gather on campus, for a chance to visit classrooms and hear about the exciting things your child’s teacher has planned for the new school year!

Next Thursday, September 7th, CAL will have our first fundraiser for the new school year! Please support our school by making a purchase at the PANDA EXPRESS RESTAURANT ON CENTRAL and SLAUSON. CAL will receive a portion of the proceeds! These funds will be used to provide fun and engaging events and activities for our Scholars!

Get ready for our 2023-24 School Year Orientation Meetings for the School Site Council and ELAC!

Next Tuesday, August 29, 2023 @ 4:00pm, we will be holding our Orientation Meetings for our School Site Council, and our English Learner Advisory Committee!

All who are interested in being a part of School-Site Council or ELAC, this year, must attend the Orientation Meetings on August 29, 2023.

The SSC Orientation will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

The ELAC Orientation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Both meetings will be in-person on CAL's campus. We look forward to seeing you! Be Informed! Make Your Voice Heard! Take Action! Join CAL's SSC or ELAC!

The CAL Leadership Team has decided to close the school and afterschool program tomorrow Monday, August 21, 2023, due to the effects of Hurricane Hilary. Students and families: please share with CAL families who may not have access to this message.

School is expected to resume on Tuesday, August 22, but more information will be provided if necessary. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
