Alright good morning everyone Welcome to our November coffee with the principal leading my name is Miss Thomas Carroll School principal and welcome and thank you for doing it for you guys let me see that we are working on for this school year and we're doing best to make progress on each month our first goal is that we will improve outcomes for all of our students through data-driven instruction family engagement metal metal metal Amelia our third goal for this year's to maintain a positive and safe learning environment for students and staff replacement in their own internal appendicitis in show you all what we've done so far this past month to support our first goal we had a lot going on here at child we've had after-school intervention I'm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a student who scored in the Lord level on our first Benchmark assessment students that we felt like we needed more intensive support have been attending our after-school intervention the last day for intervention actually was yesterday for our second one we will have summer sessions throughout the year for after-school intervention and it'll all be based on the data that we received from our our benchmark assessments that our students take so this is just to show you some of the things we're doing we like to celebrate our students who I am a student of the month and have shown Improvement that month in their class their teachers recognize them so you see pictures of that and also our teachers are having to inspect goals in class after reading goal amasco and some of them even accuse me of behavior celebrating our students who had the best attendance for the months of Mr Romo's class got to earn they got to have a popcorn and a movie party cuz they had excellent attendance meaning that students are coming to school every day and they're coming on time and we want to recognize that for them also we had Hispanic Heritage Month that went through the month of September and October and we had a big spot Festival on where students had a great time at two Fridays ago so they had some engaging activities as well as some fun things happening outside we want to engage students every day and make school fun for now and learning fun we also have a morning assembly every Monday where we a go over things that for students to learn things about her new that are important or that that we as well as Miriam our our explore expectations and we give announcements to the student and every Friday we have our principles reward boxes and assembly so students who earned Starbucks during the week for doing something really great and being recognized by an adult on campus they get to take a trip to the principal's reward box and pick a prize so these are some of the things that we're doing to engage our students as well as we had a anti-bullying Workshop parent Workshop I believe last Thursday if I'm correct Miss Bailey I might have the date wrong or apparent workshop for anti-bullying Workshop for parents to join and and just be more informed that as to how they can support the school as well as support their students so we want to continue to do things like that in the last 2 weeks ago on October 28th two weeks ago so it wasn't Thursday and I'm in and where their students got a free dress pass if parents came so just some of the things that we've done for the month to of a makeover Arthur goal is to maintain a positive and safe learning environment for students so just to kind of show you some of the great things that are happening and in the things that we're doing as a school to ensure our students safety as many of you know we do covid testing every week on site every Monday for parents with registered and staff of have weekly covid testing on site is our way of trying to keep our city safe and healthy healthy at school are we had we have emergency drills once a month we do a fire drill and an earthquake drill once a month and we do a lockdown drill once per trimester but we did participate in the great California ShakeOut I'm a couple of weeks ago where we had our big emergency response drill where our students participated our staff participate and if you look at the picture on the left those filters Canton those orange back are 5th graders taking responsibility and acting at student helpers is student Runner so we like to engage them in and being safe and we've been doing a lot of activities fat kids feel like they're in a positive learning environment they love love love love having physical education with our with our staff rpe team that's doing an excellent job engaging students in is it Go Fun physical activity as well as arch of the amazing things that are happening with our art teacher Miss postigo is doing with the kids they are we have some some artists here at Cal some amazing amazing artist if you do the pictures they're doing some really high-level artwork and our kids are loving it there super engaged and we're seeing it with the students with such positive energy on campus and just to add that is Muhammad just wanted to they're going to be graded for PE and are still it is absolutely also acknowledged that not only did our staff and students participate in our California great ShakeOut drill but our parents also came out and supported and volunteered to help us with the drill and we're very appreciative of that thank you thank you Miss Bailey for mentioning that I admit to missing out on this side thank you to the parents who also participated and supported in natural it was really helpful and we feel more prepared here to deal with issues are emerge response because we are practicing a safety every day here on campus Houston Astros it's a if they are to be most I don't like
